Entertainment Business Operations & Fundamentals Intern
If you're excited about the business behind entertainment startups, entertainment culture, working on impactful projects in small team settings, and thinking outside of the box to solve complex problems, this internship is for you. We're hiring an intern to head our growth hacking team and work directly with our CEO & COO. Gain valuable skills and network connections.
Who we are:
Gain hands-on experience in the business of entertainment with Somebody Studios. An award-winning writer/director/cinematographer with over 30 years experience on some of the most successful studio and independent films of the past few decades recently launched Somebody Studios - a company with several feature films/TV series in various stages of development and production as well as an online educational site about all aspects of film-making.
Independently motivated, entrepreneurial individuals still exploring career opportunities. Interns will have the ability to explore all the fundamentals of starting companies in entertainment, including: operations, budgeting, social media, branding, marketing, press and public relations, and more.
You will learn:
Interns will emerge with real experience leading small companies. Interns will touch all operations fields but may choose to specialize in either operations and management, budgeting, social media, SEO, PR, or business development. Additional skills include:
Productivity: Inbox-zero, calendar management.
Brain mapping: Creative thinking and product placement.
Networking: physical as well as social media for work.
Technology: Google Apps, Microsoft Office, Sketch, Slack, Asana, etc.
As an executive intern, you will shadow the executive team members directly and work on anything from organizing press contacts for a PR launch to editing scripts or contracts with Hollywood studios and production companies. Others include:
Assisting with finances, data analysis and presentations.
Building amazing powerpoint presentations.
Following up and arranging business development opportunities.
Drafting press releases and organizing the launch of new seminars.
Interpreting data from social media analytics and suggesting ways to improve.
This job might be for you if:
You communicate clearly. You write well. You speak eloquently. You can explain just about anything to anyone, and you’re comfortable communicating in writing.
You pay attention to the details. Typos, extra spaces, or a missing word? Not you.
You think on your feet. If a process doesn’t work, you can collaborate with others to create one that does.

Details: We are based in Venice, CA. This is an unpaid internship. Hours are very flexible. Position is open immediately.
